In 1970, Peter Filmer was a game ranger in Africa, walking the boundaries of wildlife reserves to protect animals from poachers, so that future generations could experience the majesty of wildlife in its natural habitat. Forty years later, he is still working to bring wildlife into the hearts of everyone. The years have been filled with art, writing and commitment to his family and community.
Gallery Twenty Seven now proudly brings Peter’s latest artwork together in an exhibition entitled, “One World.” The Exhibition shows the delicate balance between being seen or not, and creates awareness about these silent cohabiters of the earth. Fine pencil strokes on canvas bring to life the soul of these animals that stand to lose when we forget they share our world.
One World will be exhibited at Gallery Twenty Seven at the Higgins Shops from Wednesday 7th October 2015 through to Tuesday 20th October 2015.
Peter will be at Gallery Twenty Seven for a ‘Live Drawing Demonsration’ and ‘Chat with the Artist’ session from 9am on Saturday, 10th October 2015.
