The bare and black scorched earth and boulders on Gibraltar Peak are fused with a detail shot of long dry grass to create the illusion of a serious firestorm which would have been close to reality in the actual event. During the event, the boulders became so hot that the outer surface started cracking and flaking, indicating that the temperatures must have been phenomenal.
